Blake's First Deer!!!!

Blake went hunting with his dad, Uncle Rob and Uncle Wes on Thanksgiving day!! They headed to my brothers property (about 200 acres) ...perfect for hunting and only about 5 minutes away from my parents. About 6pm, they pulled into my parents' and Blake came busting into the house as proud as can be!!! Here are the pictures, and he is so cute!! He kept telling me how he kept getting Buck Fever and couldnt stop the shakes. My grandfather is 87 years old and gets buck fever everytime one comes into view of his scope. I think it's cute:)
Here are the texts between Kenny and I. I love we having cell service out there now. We talk the entire time he is in the woods...

4:15pm
Hang on...Deer to kill
---------------------------------

4:31pm
There was a young doe, barely 6 months old, and a spike out on his side...about 100yards away. The hunter looked around for others before clearing his throat, taking a calming breath, and settling into a comfortable firing position, and slowly took aim..
---------------------------------

4:33pm
...The deer simply kept eating...not knowing he was in a hunter's crosshairs...not realizing his very life was in peril. A love of corn might just be his downfall. Slow, steady trigger-pull... the jitters leaving at the hunter's unspoken command. ....his finger, with machine-like fluidity, creeps ever closer to the point of release.
---------------------------------

4:35pm
Slowly, ...slowly.... Concentrating on the crosshairs, ...focusing on the crosshairs....another breath without losing the pressure already built on the trigger..let out half...begin the pull again. Just like he'd done a thousand times before in training. They say it ought to surprise you when the hammer finally -- ***BANG***!
---------------------------------

4:36pm
The shot caught everybody present by surprise. Perfect. Deadly. The deer went down hard. Right where he stood...just like the hunter knew that he would. Bewilderment filled the spike's furry face...a smile crept across the hunter's. His quarry was his for the taking.
---------------------------------

4:42pm
Let the record show that at 4:35pm on Thanksgiving, November 25th, in the year of our Lord two-thousand and nine, Blake "Crosshairs" Rogers downed a massive spike in Tyler County, WV. Witnesses present: his father (sworn to un-biasness), and the other deer...who now has more corn to eat (also recognized as un-biased).

Black Friday Shopping!!!

One of my blogstalkers ( which I love)...just emailed me asked me to blog about my fabullous deals!!! And how great the experience was!! Okay those were my words..but I will go into great detail about my adventure.

Okay I went with two of my great friends!!!

Thursday night at 10 pm..line at Toys R Us..probably 150th in line. I waited for 2 hours! But I got everything on my list...polly pocket cruise ship, Ripstick, Light sabers, Moon Sand, Webkinz..the list goes on and on. While I was standing in line, they passed out tickets to get the "elite" items (Xbox, PS3 and....Zhu Zhu's!!!!!) Yes I got 5 zhu zhu's!! (4 of my great friends were in line and got one for me...one per person) Which is a good thing..keep reading.

Okay...left TRU3am ...headed to the outlets for about a half hour and then to the dreaded Walmart. I dont usually like Walmart on any given day, so Black Friday is not my favorite day to go to Walmart. But we went..got a few deals..check out at jewerly and was out of there in an hour.

Headed home to nap till 10am....check hamsters..fed and water.

Back out to Kohls...got several great deals there!!!! Saved even more!

Onto TGIFridays for a late lunch...

Then to Target around 4pm..

Outlets again at 6pm...

Deals to be had everywhere!!!

Cabelas at 9:30....back to New Martinsville at 11pm...i left my van at McDonalds....but my van was no where to be seen!! Turns out it was towed....parked 3 spaces over from the dumpster. Still too close...Kenny came to pick me up..next day at 3pm I got my van back for the bargain price of $100!!! Long story short...the tow guys says McD's was wrong...police agree...possible civil case. What a pain!!!

Headed home the next day around 7pm..to find Chloe and Camye's hamster had passed onto Hamster Heaven. Yes I know there is no such place..but if you would see the hysterics that break out in this house!!! You would agree that maybe there is a Hamster Heaven. So therefore, the Zhu Zhu hamster will be loved on Christmas morning!!!!

So before Black Friday, I hadnt even started shopping for Christmas. And now I am now finished with Blake, Camye, Paul, my nephew Austin, my niece Lucille, and my niece Alycia. That leaves Chloe, Kenny and my niece Elizabeth!!!!!

There you goo.....:)

Monday Musings...

I feel like blogging some anxiety issues out...I am such a planner, organizer and a list maker. I have 3 calenders plus my blackberry that I keep everything planned out on.

I pretty much have my holiday baking, shopping, decorating and wrapping down to a fine art. This year things are different. We are celebrating Christmas with my parents, brothers, grandparents on Thanksgiving and we are leaving for Texas on the 18Th of December and will not return until the 3rd of January. We are going to celebrate Christmas and New Years with Kennys parents, sister and her 4 kiddos and his brother and his wife and little girl...

Soo....my plans are off. Decorating is out..and I have to say I am not THAT disappointed.

This year my grandparents and brother gave me ALL their money to shop for my family from them, because NONE of them shop. Sooooo...I have spent the last week shopping and mostly dropping since I had the worst cold of my lifetime!! But there went alot of my ideas as well.

So here are my plans:
Baking for Thanksgiving must be complete by Monday November 23rd.
Wrapping must be done by Monday November 23rd.
Everyone packed and down to my parents on Monday November 23rd.

Come home on Thanksgiving the 26th, head to the outlet mall at 10pm finish shopping there ...head to Toys R Us by midnight to start shopping from "Santa". My plans are outlet mall, Toys R Us, Walmart, Joann Fabrics, Kohls, and Target. And a lot of Starbucks in between. I would LOVE to finish all that shopping on Black Friday. I think if I stay organized and can function....shop all night and all the next day. I can finish it!!

After Thanksgiving goals:
Christmas Baking done by December 18th and frozen
Christmas Shopping done by December 1st
Wrapped by December 15th.
Van packed.
Texas bound!!

Not too bad....sorry if I totally bored you!!! I feel better now that I have blogged out my frustrations.

Medieval Times: Castles

WOW!! These kids blew my mind today!!!! This Is really all I can say about my 6th-8th grade and 4th-5th grade Medieval Times class. These kids are soooo excited about learning and creating. They are all just great kids!!Our assignment this week was to build a castle to the best of your ability. We had every kind of imaginable castles from gingerbread to cardboard. They were FABULOUS!!!!

This was a Jacob and Nathan Bairen's gingerbread castle. This was great. I will uploading a video later (when I get to a computer with high speed) to show you how 40 homeschool kids can attack a castle and WIN!!!! LOL!!!!
Below is Chloe and Blake's castle, Blake spent his birthday money to purchase a lego Medival Times set. BUT when Chloe was cleaning last week she threw it away, after much prodding to use your imagination. They created this. I am really proud of them. Only one castaphore that happened on the way to co~op this morning, we were running a bit late. Camye ran into the van and ran right into the castle knocked half of it outside the van in the gravel....!!! We were able to recover!!!

Besides Blakes castle, is Alayna Stahlman's castle. And believe this or not....it was a cake. Alayna and her mother made this and it was awesome!!
I added Tessa's cute castle in here!! Because it was very creative and I know her mom is an avid stalker of my blogs!!!!:):):)

Here is Chloe with our castle..I have no idea why it is smaller:??????

~Trip Around the World~

Here is a quilt I just finished today, it is called "Trip Around the World". I used the Eleanor Burns Quilt in a day pattern for it. Of course, my quilt was not finished in a day...more like 2 weeks. I have made a Trip Around the World baby quilt in a day but this is a full size quilt for my guest room/sewing room/computer room. I wanted something bright and bold. I do feel slightly selfish making something for me with holidays quickly approaching, but I couldnt wait!!

Now the hard part..borders. I hadnt really even given it a second thought when I started because I knew what I wanted the bold colors to be.

I am going to the Amish Quilt Shop Hop in Holmes County on Thursday...hopefully I will get some little Amish lady to point the perfect fabrics for my borders.

Halloween 2009!!!

What fun!!! The kids had a blast trick or treating Saturday night! Chloe was a soccer player, Blake was a pirate, Camye was a black kitty and Paul was a rooster!!!

We made a HUGE haul in the candy area!!. Bleh..I am already sick of it hanging around the house. Anyway...Here is a belated Happy Halloween!!
