a few thoughts on Disney...

We had never been to Disney. I had no plans on ever paying for a trip to Disney. However, with Make a Wish, it wasn't about what I wanted but what Cade wanted.

Here are some thoughts, recommendations and expectations we had before and some after.

Vacation
Kenny and I were very careful to not get our expectations up to high for a fabulous, relaxing vacation. It was fabulous however it was not relaxing.

Meltdowns
Never before have seen so many kids and some adults melting down before my eyes. Kids screaming, sobbing, crying, over stimulated, too hot, hungry... We just kept walking because well we have 10. And one that cried about every 2 hours. Expect meltdowns on every corner.
And yes adults melting down.... I will spare you the details.

Hotel Accomadations
We stayed in a Disney Resort the first two nights while it was nice, and had we been paying it would have cost over $1000 a night. No thank you. But then we moved to Give Kids the World Resort for wish kids... It was so nice to drive by fast food and gas stations and Walmarts outside Disney World because you see next to none inside the park.

Dress Alike
Maybe this is just large families... But when we were all dressed alike it was so easy to keep count or to do a crowd search for a missing child. We didn't match on Day 4 and I wish we had.

Plan
If you've never been to Disney before or even if you have. Plan. Make a list of what you want to do. You will not make it to everything. Plan your meals and snacks as well and where you will be at that time.

Character Meals
The character meals were nice for that but super pricey. Look for the souvenirs mugs those are a good deal. Take snacks on! You'll be glad you did.
